U Rent-a-Guru service fees:
$78 hourly labor rate - U of M students, faculty, staff, departments, alumni. ($95 per hour labor rate for customers not affiliated with the U) Most of the U Rent-a-Guru support services are charged based upon the amount of time a technician/consultant works on your computer, with the exceptions listed below. The minimum charge is 1/2 hour labor rate ($39).
There are some flat fee services available as well:

- Operating system installation $89.00
- Data backup/transfer $59.00
- Data recovery $159.00
- Memory installation: $25 per stick
- Graphics/Video cards and optical drive installation: $35 per device
- Hard drive installation: $35 per HD

$75 Expedite Fee
- For an additional $75, U Rent-a-Guru offers an Expedite service for those who find themselves in a "time crunch". The expedite service moves them to the front of this list. U Rent-a-Guru technicians will troubleshoot your computer or printer within 4 working hours.
Carry-in service - Bring your computer desktop and faulty computer CPU and/or other troublesome equipment. If you have a laptop, bring the power adapter as well. The carry-in service is more economical and the turnaround time is faster.
On-site service - $39 travel fee to an on campus location - UCS consultants can come to your TC campus location (East Bank, St. Paul, and West Bank) to assist you with your computer needs. If your location is off campus, the travel fee is $60.
U Rent-a-Guru payment options:
U Rent-a-Guru accepts cash or credit cards (Discover, MasterCard or Visa). UCS can also bill a current U or M student account or a departmental CUFS # from eligible faculty/staff. UCS does not accept checks.
